Kenyon College is seeking applications for a Service Point Coordinator (SPC) in the Information Technology department.  This is a full-time, permanent, benefit-eligible position.

About Us:  Join our Team!

Kenyon College, one of the nation’s finest liberal arts colleges, is a small school where academic excellence and a strong sense of community go hand in hand. Kenyon’s beautiful hilltop campus is located in Gambier, OH, 45 miles northeast of Columbus, OH.  Kenyon enrolls 1800 undergraduate students, all of whom live on campus the entire time they are students at Kenyon.

The Information Technology (IT) department is an inclusive group committed to ensuring all students, faculty, staff, alumni, and other campus partners have a safe, productive, enjoyable, and meaningful experience with college technology.  We provide creative solutions, responsive services, and reliable, secure access to an enabling infrastructure. The IT team is an encouraging environment where we grow, learn, and pursue our craft. We are helpful, kind, friendly, and respectful of all. We enjoy a sense of humor--something we find essential to our success. We make our work fun whenever possible! Work/life balance is valued here: we love our work but understand that there is more to life. Professional development and diversity are also valued here: we continually learn new skills, grow in our understanding of the world around us, and explore new technologies.

About the Position: Do Work that Matters!

As the Service Point Coordinator, you will be the first point of contact for students, faculty, and staff seeking technology support at Kenyon. You will play a key role in ensuring that every interaction at the IT Service Point is welcoming, helpful, and effective. This position is not only about solving technical issues, but also about building supportive relationships and fostering trust within the campus community.

In this role, you will oversee the daily operations of our technology help desk, coordinate student employees, and serve as a resource for handling both routine and complex service requests. You will develop and refine processes to make support more efficient while maintaining a personal, human-centered approach to service. Beyond troubleshooting, you will contribute to technology education across campus, empowering clients with the knowledge they need to successfully navigate tools and systems.

The Service Point Coordinator is a role that balances people skills with technical problem-solving. You will have the opportunity to make a visible impact every day, ensuring that Kenyon’s academic mission is supported by reliable, accessible, and user-friendly technology experiences. This is a chance to combine your customer service, technical expertise, communication skills, and desire to help others in a vibrant, collaborative environment where your work truly matters.

IT team members are encouraged and expected to develop and grow their skills to match the needs of the institution, and to help others grow, too. Recognizing that technology is continually changing, the Service Point Coordinator participates in regular professional development and in the larger professional community as well.

  • Broad understanding of all technologies that are used in individual offices, including computers, monitors, docks, phones, accessories, and tablets.

Working Conditions:
