Kenyon College is conducting a search for a qualified candidate to fill the position of Technology Purchasing Coordinator (TPC) in the Information Technology department. This is a full-time, permanent, benefit-eligible position.

About the Position: Do Work that Matters!

As the Technology Purchasing Coordinator, you will support the acquisition and financial tracking of critical technology resources for the IT department. This role coordinates the end-to-end procurement of computing equipment and software licenses, ensuring accurate inventory records, seamless receiving processes, and efficient invoice reconciliation.

Working closely with IT leadership and the Accounting department, you will ensure all purchase requests are processed with precision and speed. Your responsibilities include facilitating orders with approved vendors, meticulously tracking expenditures to assist with budget monitoring, and partnering with Accounting to ensure timely payment of invoices and total financial compliance.

As technology shifts, you will engage in regular professional development and participate in the broader professional community to stay at the forefront of industry standards.

Minimum Requirements: 

We value both education and experience. A successful candidate should be comfortable with technology, be curious, and love to learn. These are the minimum requirements for a successful candidate:

  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree or a closely related combination of relevant education and experience.
  • Procurement & Asset Experience: Experience with purchasing, procurement support, or administrative coordination. 
  • Financial & Budgetary Support: Ability to assist in managing departmental budgets.
  • Operational Efficiency: Experience managing multi-task workflows and utilizing spreadsheets to facilitate seamless team collaboration.
  • Collaboration: Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across cross-functional teams, such as Information Technology, Accounting, and Executive Leadership.

Preferred Qualifications

These are the preferred qualifications for a successful candidate:

  • Professional Experience: Two (2) or more years of professional experience specifically in IT procurement, purchasing or budgetary support.
  • Vendor Coordination: Vendor & Contract Support: Ability to maintain high-performing vendor relationships, conduct due diligence for cost-effective solutions, and provide comprehensive support throughout the contract lifecycle.
  • System Knowledge: Experience with ERP/ITAM (IT Asset Management) platforms and the Microsoft or Google Workspace ecosystems.

Working Conditions

Kenyon is an employer that understands the complexity of modern life. While our IT team works flexible hours and can function in a hybrid environment, this role is primarily on-site to support on-premises operations.
