Assistant Professor in 20th and 21st Century Global Anglophone Poetry and Poetics
Kenyon College, a highly selective, nationally ranked liberal arts college in central Ohio, invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position in twentieth- and twenty-first century poetry and poetics with a specialization in global Anglophone poetry (effective July 1). The candidate may focus on one or more specific regions or on transnational networks or orientations. Strong candidates with expertise in multi-ethnic U.S. poetry will also be considered. We encourage applications from candidates who are also practicing poets. The teaching requirement will be 3:2 or 2:3. Ph.D. in English or Comparative Literature required by July 1, 2019. Candidates should submit a letter of interest; a curriculum vitae; three letters of recommendation (at least one of which must speak to the candidate’s teaching); an unofficial transcript; and a writing sample of up to 25 pages. The letter of interest should detail research interests and teaching experience and philosophy, including ways that issues and practices related to diversity, inclusion, and equity have been or will be included in teaching and advising.
