Sportsbet is on a mission to become a world-class betting and wagering business, trusted by all our stakeholders. We're looking for a passionate and experienced individual to join our TSCO Risk & Compliance Team as a Senior Risk & Compliance Specialist – Financial Crime.
In this position, you'll play a vital role in:
- Shaping a Winning Culture: You'll collaborate with your teammates to ensure our departments have strong control environments, effectively managing risks and compliance obligations. This fosters an environment of trust and transparency for our customers, colleagues, and partners.
- Elevating Our Risk Management Strategy: You'll help support Sportsbet's approach to risk and compliance management, controls, and assurance. Your subject matter expertise will be invaluable in guiding control enhancements and mitigating key operational risks.
- Building a World-Class Approach: You'll ensure alignment with the proven policies and frameworks of Flutter Entertainment Group, a leading NYSE-listed company.
This role will act as the TSCO Risk & Compliance (Line 1) representative for Financial Crime matters (AML/CTF focused). They will be responsible for building and maintaining strong working relationships with both operational and Line 2 teams.
Key Accountabilities
Stakeholder Management / Advisory
- Maintains strong relationships within the team and with the business
- Discusses and solves specific, detailed problems over a small range of topics with the business, including Financial Crime
- Acts as a trusted advisor, providing support and guidance to the business on risk mitigation, regulatory compliance and control design
- Works with the business and the Line 2 AML team to provide relevant risk & compliance-focused advice for the delivery of new initiatives in areas of responsibility
Team Strategy
- Actively contributes to the CSRC Strategy through ideas and suggestions. Contributes to the success of each Strategic pillar through day-to-day activities
Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management
- Responsible for understanding relevant regulatory obligations for area of responsibility, including Financial Crime, as well as monitoring and communicating changes
- Identifies, understands and documents operational risks for area of responsibility, including Financial Crime
Control Articulation and Testing
- Identifies, understands and documents effective and robust controls for area of responsibility, including Financial Crime
- Performs control testing activities for area of responsibility, including Financial Crime
- Communicating and reporting control testing results to business management
- Monitoring management’s responses and implementation of agreed management actions
Supporting Risk & Compliance Activities
- Manages incidents for area of responsibility, liaising with Line 2 representatives for Financial Crime related matters
- Monitors training completion rates for area(s) of responsibility, including Financial Crime. Works with individuals and line managers to ensure completion
- Oversees the delivery of internal and external audits for area of responsibility, including Financial Crime related audits
Data Analytics
- Analysing large data sets to build insights
- Driving analysis and making informed decisions based on Data Analytics

- Ability to communicate (both written and verbal) to all levels of management and write meaningful reports and presentations

- Good analytical and technical risk & compliance skills
- Ability to identify issues and associated risks, and provide practical solutions
- Capability to understand the complex regulatory environment in the gambling sector
