The Opportunity

An exciting 15-week opportunity has arisen, due to a team member taking some well-deserved long service leave. Ideally, the successful candidate would be in role from 16 June to 28 September.

The Team

Diverse, goal oriented and collaborative team who are passionate for sports including Cricket & AFL. We have a strong focus on operational excellence working alongside our global counterparts.

The Role

We require a team player with an in-depth knowledge of AFL and Cricket, with a focus on player-based markets. Due to the nature of the role the successful candidate will be required to work both evenings and weekends on a regular basis. Duties include:

• Operate sporting models to trade live games
• support the more experienced traders in the day-to-day operation of the team
• ensuring our betting markets are created, displayed and then resulted in a timely fashion leading to a best in class customer experience.
• Collaboration with the risk team to manage liabilities and manage pre-match and in-play risk
• compiling odds on lower tier matches or competitions

This role requires shifts on weekends and evenings from time to time as we work as part of an international team.

• An in-depth knowledge of AFL and to a lesser extent Cricket.
• The ability to keep a very high level of concentration
• Multitasking and calmness under pressure, working to tight deadlines
• Good measure of self-awareness and exceptional people skills.
• A strong ability to collaborate both internally and across the Paddy Power Betfair Group
• An understanding of betting & statistics.
• Knowledge of minor Domestic Sports a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in the use of the Office suite most notably Excel & Outlook is essential
• Undergraduate degree in statistics, mathematics or business -related field is desirable
