About the role

Reporting to the Head of Mass Media, this role is responsible for media strategy, planning and buying across Digital Media channels and partnerships including SVOD, YouTube, Spotify, AFL.com, NRL.com, Racing.com and Sportsmate, and will work closely with other key functions across the Media, Marketing and broader Customer department. 

You will lead a team and our media agency with the aim of maximising effective brand awareness to drive Top-of-Mind Awareness, new customer acquisition/reactivations and existing customer retention.

This key role will form part of the Media Extended Leadership Team (Media ELT).


Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing input as part of the Media ELT in formulating and executing the Media Team’s strategy
  • Develop and communicate the Digital Media strategy delivering to Sportsbet and Media Team objectives
  • Drive the evolution of Digital Media delivering best in class customer experience through innovative solutions 
  • Identify new opportunities to further grow Sportsbet 
  • Make decisions based on sound judgement and commercial insights
  • Lead team in analysing and deriving insights on business performance as it relates to Digital Media initiatives, optimising for impact
  • Build and evolve a high performing team that fosters strong relationships and open and honest feedback
  • Nurture relationships across PMG, media partners, internal stakeholders and other key partners


About You

  • Proven experience in a role leading a high performing team
  • Excellent relationship management skills
  • Proven experience in Digital Media
    • Experience using Ad Serving technology, preferably Double Click
    • Knowledge and experience using DSP technology
    • Background in campaign setup and managing the QA process
    • Knowledge of App tracking (as it relates to media campaigns)
    • Knowledge of web tracking (as it relates to media campaigns)
  • Ability to use detailed data and analysis to draw insight
  • Ability to use insight to make effective and timely decisions
  • Be a leader of creativity and challenger mentality within the media and marketing team
  • Knowledge and understanding of core media agency tools including Roy Morgan, Adex and OzTam
