    Role Overview:

    We are seeking and highly motivated, skilled and forward-thinking BIM engineer who is primarily developer focused to join our growing DfMA (Design for Manufacturing and Assembly) team. This opportunity is ideal for someone who has both BIM expertise along with developer capability to help dive our digital transformation in the offsite construction space.

    The role will focus on the automation of DfMA workflows, developing intelligent scripts and tools to be used in the BIM environment including an efficiency calculator to establish where key efficiencies and productivity gains are in the offsite construction space.

    Key Responsibilities

    Automation development

    Lead the development of automated BIM tools and scripts (E.g. Dynamo, Python, Rhino, Revit API) to:

    • Generate DfMA and MEP services coordination strategies.
    • Automatically place elements into the BIM model.
    • Enforce design standards, minimising manual input and rework.
    • Expand BIM content library with fully parametric intelligent families.
    • Collaborate with the wider digital engineering team to continually evolve the BIM automation roadmap to align with repeatable design logic and product standardisation.

    DfMA Portal

    Build and manage a digital portal to house:

    • Product templates and families.
    • Engineering standards and guidance.
    • Automation scripts, calculators and schedules.
    • Co-develop the DfMA benefits calculator by connecting design and engineering data with project metrics (time, cost, quality, installation, safety).
    • Integrate BIM tools with external platforms such as power bi and web based platforms.

    BIM Coordination & Model development

    • Support model setup, coordination, and clash management.
    • Ensure BIM models are aligned with DfMA principles, manufacturing and construction constraints.
    • Produce detailed shop drawings and quantity take offs from BIM models for downstream manufacturing and construction activities

    Innovation and Team Contribution

    • Be a champion of innovation, bringing new tools and technologies into the business.
    • Work closely with design and engineering teams to ensure all these tools solve actual project problems.
    • Provide training to the wider teams as and when required

     

     

     

    Skills and Experience

    • Proficiency in Revit, Dynamo and BIM automation workflows.
    • Experience with Python, Revit API or other scripting languages used in the AEC industry.
    • A good understanding of the BIM coordination process
    • Familiarity of offsite construction and DfMA principals
    • Experience with BIM library management

     

    Desirable Skills and Experience

    • Familiarity with construction sequencing, schedule visualization (4D/5D)
    • Familiarity with version control tools for script management
    • Familiarity with development of dashboards and portals for sharing of BIM data
    • Familiarity with ISO 19650 BIM standards
