    Job Summary:

The Package Engineer (Mechanical) serves as the single point of contact for all matters related to mechanical and equipment packages. This role involves close coordination with OEMs/suppliers, the contractor’s engineering team, construction teams, engineering consultants, and the client. The engineer is responsible for managing the complete lifecycle of mechanical/equipment packages—from design and procurement to manufacturing monitoring, installation, and successful commissioning. The role requires strong experience in processing plant construction (e.g., mineral, oil & gas, power) and heavy equipment systems.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Act as the primary interface between engineering, manufacturers, construction, consultants, and clients for all mechanical/equipment package-related activities.
    • Coordinate with internal engineering disciplines to ensure alignment of package design with overall plant requirements.
    • Prepare and review technical specifications, datasheets, and requisitions for mechanical equipment such as heavy equipment, pumps, dosing systems, and other rotating/static machinery.
    • Monitor and report on package progress, logistics plans, risks, and mitigation strategies.
    • Evaluate vendor proposals and conduct technical bid evaluations.
    • Manage vendor interactions, including design reviews, document approvals, manufacturing progress, FATs, and delivery schedules.
    • Ensure compliance with project specifications, industry codes (BIS, ASME, API, ISO), and safety standards.
    • Support construction and commissioning teams with technical clarifications and on-site coordination.

    Qualifications & Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
    • 15–20 years of experience in mechanical package engineering, with hands-on experience in plant construction.
    • Strong knowledge of heavy equipment, pumps, dosing systems, rotating/static machinery, and other mechanical systems.
    • Familiarity with international and national standards and codes (BIS, ASME, API, ISO).
    • Experience in vendor management, procurement, and construction support.
    • Proficiency in engineering tools and document management systems.

    Preferred Skills:

    • Experience in EPC projects or industrial plant construction.
    • The candidate must have hands-on experience in managing the following mechanical packages (Verti Mill, Agitator, Air Compressor system, Filters, Overhead cranes, Dosing system (Lime, Flocculant), Cyclones, Thickener, Valves, Floatation cells, Pumps etc.)
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective stakeholder coordination.
    • Ability to manage multiple packages and priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
    • Working knowledge of 3D modelling tools and project planning software.
    • Familiarity with DGMS requirements in India for mineral processing plants.
