About the Role
PSA is seeking dedicated and highly capable individuals to join our Emergency Response team. As an Emergency Response Specialist, you will play a critical role in safeguarding lives, protecting port infrastructure, and ensuring the continuity of operations across one of the world’s busiest port environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond promptly and effectively to a wide range of emergency incidents, including:
- Structural and industrial fires
- Hazardous material (HAZMAT) releases
- Land equipment and marine interface rescue operations
- Medical emergencies
- Execute emergency response operations across diverse port facilities such as terminals, automated yards, vessel berths, and automobile terminals.
- Support on-site operations with relevant government agencies and internal stakeholders to ensure safe and effective incident management.
- Apply advanced firefighting, rescue, and mitigation techniques in high‑pressure, fast‑moving scenarios.
- Conduct post‑incident stabilisation, recovery support, and operational continuity activities.
- Participate in emergency preparedness initiatives, including training, drills, audits, and equipment readiness checks.
- Support capability development in emerging risk areas (e.g., electric vehicle fires, alternative fuels).
- Contribute to a culture of safety, innovation, and continuous improvement within the Emergency Response team.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Relevant operational experience in firefighting, rescue, emergency response, or equivalent uniformed services is an advantage.
- Knowledge of HAZMAT response, technical rescue, or marine emergency operations is preferred.
- Capable of performing physical tasks and able to meet the demanding requirements of emergency response duties.
- Strong situational awareness, problem‑solving skills, and ability to perform under pressure.
- Willingness to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders during emergencies.
- Min. N Level / Nitec in any discipline
- Served as a fire fighter with SCDF during National Service
