About the Role

The purpose of the Project Implementation Officer position is to provide a range of project support, planning and delivery within Life Without Barriers Out of Home Care / Care to Thrive program.

The Life Without Barriers Care 2 Thrive program provides a safe, stable, and supportive family-based care environment for a child or young person with complex support requirements. Care 2 Thrive is provided by specialist kinship or foster carers who are supported by Life Without Barriers to deliver daily care. The program involves a whole of team approach providing the opportunity for children and young people to thrive and to heal through normalised childhood experiences.  

The incumbent will be responsible for:

  • Scoping and identify long-term community placement arrangements for children within our current Foster / Kinship programs.
  • Prepare detailed proposal documentation outlining client specific care and support needs.
  • Oversee project schedule and resource allocations and ensure appropriate engagement from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Coordination, administration and reporting of one or more project.

This is a part-time opportunity for 12 months, 0.4 FTE 16hrs a week excluding breaks The spread of hours worked can be negotiated with the successful applicant.

This role will be a hybrid mix of WFH and office based at our Dandenong office. Some work travel to various work locations maybe required.

Key Requirements

  • Consult with key stakeholders such as therapeutic supports, operational staff, potential carers, children and young people and other service providers.
  • Prepare proposal documentation outlining client specific care and support needs.
  • Oversee project schedule and resource allocations and ensure appropriate engagement from internal and external stakeholders.
  • On an agreed basis, prepare accurate and robust project status reports to meet LWB and stakeholder needs, including for executive level audience.

Skills & Experience  

  • Demonstrated experience in the child, youth, and family sector, including out of home care, funding and care models.
  • Demonstrated experience working with individuals, families, or groups using a strengths-based and culturally appropriate approach.
  • Demonstrated understanding of current casework practice for children and young people.
  • Collaborative skills to work effectively with various stakeholders, including peers, employees, volunteers, external organisations, and government agencies.
  • Excellent written communication skills for the creation of reports, correspondence and other material.
  • Strong verbal communication and presentation abilities.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills, and ability to think laterally and strategically.
  • Proficient ability in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of programs
  • Tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in Human Services, Business, Project Management or similar areas

 

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check.
