We are looking for 3 enthusiastic, client focussed Disability Support Workers to join our team in Greensborough in the North eastern suburbs.
You will be responsible for providing support to residence as required whilst developing, implementing, and monitoring Individual Plans including personal care. In this role you will work to facilitate the delivery of quality services and achieve positive outcomes with and for the clients within the house.
We require a support workers who are team players who can show initiative and who has attention to detail in everything that they do. Throughout a shift you will be required to assist with domestic chores, including cooking.
At times you will be required to drive to transport our residents’ to appointments and activities.
Excellent communication skills are also essential as are strong engagement skills as we need you to engage with residents who display behaviours of concern. And who have medical conditions.

Key Responsibilities include:
- Provide quality direct support to service users in line with their support needs, the programs they are accessing, and all support plans including the service users Individual Plan
- Increase the service users’ skills through independence, personal growth and development through the provision of active support and their enhanced participation as a valued member of their community
- Implement development programs and identify and support learning opportunities for service users
- Assist in the delivery of programs that facilitate service users’ development of social networks and inclusion in community activities
Skills & Experience
- Minimum Cert IV Qualified in Disability, Community Welfare or similar
- A current Senior First Aid (level 2) Certificate
- A current unrestricted Driver Licence
- Hold or willing to obtain the NDIS workers screening check
- A commitment to supporting and promoting the individual needs, skills, abilities and personal goals of people with disabilities
- The ability to develop a positive relationship with service users and to support their Individual Personal Plan
In order to be compliant successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including a National Criminal History Record Check and an International Criminal History Record Check; if you have resided for 12 months or more outside of Australia in the last 10 years. A Working with Children Check & NDIS workers screening check is also required (where relevant to the role) and a current Victorian Driver's Licence is essential.
To be considered for and appointed to a position at Life Without Barriers, you must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 with a minimum of two (2) doses or hold a valid medical exemption certificate, in accordance with Life Without Barriers Employee COVID-19 Vaccination Policy. You will be required to provide evidence of your vaccination status during the recruitment process.

Rosters splits for all vacant lines:
70232: 54:00/49:30 – This roster is a mix of mornings, and afternoon shifts. This roster also includes 6 Sleep overs per month.
70233: 58:00/54:30 – This roster is mix of mornings, full day and afternoon shifts. No Sleep over shifts.
70234: 66:30/59:00 – This roster is a mix of mornings, some full day shifts and afternoon shifts. This roster includes 6 Sleep over shifts per month.
