About the Role

Joining our supportive team, you will be providing personalised support to our QCSS (Queensland Community Support Scheme) clients within their home, you will be required to travel around Cairns and surrounds as you will be supporting multiple clients a day.

This is a casual position with all working hours between 7am to 6pm, Monday to Friday, no evening or sleepover shifts. We are needing availability for at least three days a week to ensure we can support our new clients.

Key Responsibilities

Assist clients to improve their independence according to their identified needs and goals inclusive of:

In home supports:

  • Domestic assistance such as light cleaning and housework
  • Personal care
  • Assistance with meal preparation
  • Skill development

Community Connections supports:

  • Social support & linking
  • Shopping assistance
  • Assist clients to improve their independence in according to their identified needs and goals
  • Establish a rapport and collaborate effectively with clients and their family

Skills & Experience

  • Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing, Disability or similar)
  • QLD Working With Children Check (Blue Card)  
  • Excellent organisational skills, hygiene practices and problem-solving abilities
  • An Australian Driver’s Licence and reliable vehicle with minimum third-party insurance.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships
  • A current First Aid and CPR Certificate (must be obtained prior to employment)

Successful candidates will be required to undertake relevant pre-employment checks to ensure the safety of our clients. This includes a National Criminal History Record Check, QLD Working With Children Check (Blue Card) and complete a statutory declaration.
