About the role
Reporting to the Regional Operations Manager, you will oversee the operations of Supported Independent Living (SIL) homes and Lifestyle Supports in the Mackay area, ensuring the people we support receive high-quality active supports.
This is a permanent full-time position for an experienced leader with a background in community services, who will provide coaching and mentoring to a team of Disability Support Workers. The successful candidate will have the ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment, be proactive and motivated, and have a knowledge of relevant rostering principles.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a team and provide advice and supervision to achieve positive outcomes
- Ensure staff are skilled and knowledgeable in the delivery of contemporary disability services guided by the people we support
- Facilitate and manage a partnership approach with families and supporters
- Manage the running of services including budgets, compliance, reporting and staff ratios
- Collaborate with key business partners to ensure national consistency in delivering a positive service
- Manage, monitor and report on incidents and complaints
- Communicate and act in ways that are consistent with Life Without Barriers’ values
- Participate and share the responsibility of an on-call roster
Skills & Experience
- Experience in a leadership position within the delivery of services to people with a disability
- Diploma in relevant Social & Community Services or relevant experience
- Current unrestricted Australian Drivers Licence
- Established influencing and negotiation skills
- A passion and drive to use your leadership capability to make an impact in the sector
- Ability to think creatively and use initiative
Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check, an NDIS Workers Screening Check and Working with Children Check (where relevant to the role).
