About the role
As an Intensive Therapeutic Case Manager, you will play a pivotal role in providing holistic support to young people in need. Your primary responsibility will be to work closely with young people, who are experiencing a range of emotional, behavioural, and psychological difficulties. Through your expertise in therapeutic intervention and case management, you will help guide them towards improved mental well-being, self-esteem, and life skills.
To be successful in this role, you will have experience working with Children & Young People in out of home care and an understanding of trauma and its effects on children and young people. Regular travel across Newcastle and the Central Coast to the locations of the Children & Young People is a requirement of this role.
Role Requirements
- Relevant bachelor’s degree, or a relevant diploma and be working towards a degree. (A qualification is desirable but not essential for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander applicants with relevant experience and a willingness to undertake further training)
- Previous case management experience within an Intensive Therapeutic Care or Out Of Home Care (OOHC) setting
- Experience supporting Children & Young People with disability, who have experienced backgrounds of trauma, abuse and/or neglect.
- Understanding of current casework practices for children and young people
- Current drivers’ licence
