About the Role
Role: Therapeutic Youth Worker
Employment Type: Permanent Part Time & Casual
Locations: Bronte, Croydon, Homebush, Riverwood & Stanhope Gardens
Hourly Rate: from $36.46 per hour + super (Dependent on qualifications & experience)
As a Therapeutic Youth Worker within our Intensive Therapeutic Care team, you’ll be a key support for children & young people aged 12 to 17 years with disabilities and/or complex medical needs, who’ve experienced childhood trauma, abuse, or neglect.
You will be part of a dedicated to team working to ensuring a safe, homelike environment where these young people can thrive, supporting them to learn independent life skills, develop problem solving skills and to build appropriate and positive relationships with others.
Our residential homes operate 24/7, therefore successful applicants will need to be able and willing to work a roster which regularly includes afternoon, overnight and weekend shifts.

Role requirements:
- A Diploma in Community Services or related field, OR willingness to complete a Diploma offered by LWB (Note: a qualification is desirable but not essential for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander applicants with relevant experience)
- A current Provide First Aid (HLTAID011) certificate
- A current driver’s licence
- Experience supporting children and young people who have experienced childhood trauma, have a disability and/or exhibit pain-based behaviours of concern (ideally within a residential care setting)
- An understanding of the importance of family/kinship connections to children and young people in placement
- Willingness to assist with activities of daily living, including personal care (if required).
Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check, NSW Working with Children Check and NSW Residential Care Workers Register check.
