Role: Therapeutic Youth Worker (Intensive Therapeutic Care & Significant Disabilities)
Employment Type: Permanent Part Time & Casual
Location: Newcastle
As a Therapeutic Youth Worker you’ll be a key support for children & young people aged 12 to 17 years who’ve experienced childhood trauma, abuse, or neglect. Some of the children and young people we care for may also have a disability or complex medical needs requiring specialised support, including personal care.
Our residential homes operate 24/7, therefore it is essential that successful applicants are able and willing to work a roster which regularly includes afternoon, sleepover and weekend shifts. We will not be able to consider applicants who cannot fulfil this requirement.

Role requirements:
- Hold or be actively completing a Diploma in Community Services or related field (or higher) OR hold relevant experience and complete Diploma qualification offered by LWB. (Please note: a qualification is desirable but not essential for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander applicants with relevant experience)
- Experience supporting Children, Young People and/or People with disability
- A current Provide First Aid (HLTAID011) certificate
- A current driver’s licence
- Willingness to assist with activities of daily living, including personal care (if required).
Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check, NSW Working with Children Check and NSW Residential Care Workers Register check.
