As a Carer Engagement Officer, you’ll support carers, children and young people & families through regular in-person visits. You’ll also use your creativity to plan, run, and review marketing campaigns, events, and recruitment activities that help attract, engage, and keep great carers.

This role offers a flexible hybrid work model, and can be based anywhere within Northern NSW (ideally Taree, Coffs Harbour, Ballina or Tweed Heads) however regular travel throughout the Northern NSW region will be required. 

 Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to enquiries from prospective foster carers in a timely manner and help guide them through the application and assessment process
  • Keep accurate records of enquiries and undertake analysis on enquiry rates and successful carer applications in relation to the recruitment and marketing activities undertaken within the local area
  • Deliver appropriate marketing and recruitment campaigns to enhance LWB’s brand. increase the number of foster care applicants and proactively engages with the community (including attending relevant events)
  • Keep accurate records of enquiries and undertake analysis on enquiry rates and successful carer applications resulting from recruitment and marketing activities undertaken within a local area. 
  • Provide support and supervision to carers with no current placements to ensure these carers remain connected to, and supported by, the organisation.
  • Undertake carer reviews and housing safety checks for carers with no current placement.
  • Identify and report on carer support, learning and training needs.

Skills & Experience

  • Tertiary qualifications in human services, marketing, recruitment or other relevant field and/or equivalent experience.
  • Prior completion of the Step-by-Step Training and Assessment Tools course would be highly regarded
  • Demonstrated experience working within the Child Protection sector, ideally in a role that engages with and supports Foster Carers and volunteers on a regular basis.
  • Demonstrated marketing and event planning experience
  • A strong ability to develop and maintain positive relationships and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience and skills in undertaking child focused assessments and reviews
  • Highly developed analytical, organisation and communication skills
  • Current Unrestricted drivers’ licence.

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and NSW Working with Children Check.
