About the role

Permanent full time position that can be located anywhere in Australia where you have full flexibility to work from home or one of our offices. This role places you at the heart of delivering automation and integration solutions that materially change how the organisation operates at scale. You will own delivery outcomes, with clear accountability for timelines, quality, and execution, and the authority to shape how work moves from concept through to production.

As a delivery-focused technical leader, you will combine strong technical judgement with decisive execution, keeping the team grounded in practical delivery while tackling complex and meaningful problems. You will lead a capable team of developers and automation specialists, building solutions that are robust, scalable, and used every day across the organisation.

Reporting to the Delivery Manager (Automation), you will take prioritised work and turn it into executable delivery plans, actively managing risk, dependencies, and trade-offs. You will ensure solutions are reliable, supportable, and aligned with organisational standards, while maintaining momentum and focus on delivering real outcomes that support the organisation’s mission. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Own day-to-day delivery outcomes for the team, including scope, sequencing, and timelines

  • Plan, coordinate, and track work to ensure predictable delivery and early identification of risks

  • Provide technical leadership and oversight across solution design and implementation

  • Lead and support team members through clear direction, coaching, and performance feedback

  • Manage delivery risks, dependencies, and technical trade-offs

  • Engage with stakeholders to communicate progress, risks, and changes clearly

  • Ensure adherence to security, governance, and operational standards

  • Drive continuous improvement in delivery practices, tooling, and team effectiveness

 

Skills & Experience

  • Strong experience with AWS, including serverless services
  • Proven experience leading a delivery-focused software or automation team

  • Demonstrated accountability for delivery outcomes in an agile or iterative environment

  • Strong understanding of the software delivery lifecycle and DevOps practices

  • Working knowledge of one or more modern programming languages (C#, Golang, Python, Node.js)

  • Solid database knowledge across relational and NoSQL technologies

  • Strong problem-solving, prioritisation, and decision-making skills

  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check.
