                    Position: Youth Worker – Family Based Care

                    Employment Type: Casual

                    Location: Greater Sydney Region

In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring family visits between children and their families, including transportation. You may also be involved in providing mentorship support to children and young people.

These positions offer shifts between 3-7 hours duration, scheduled according to client needs, across seven days of the week, including mornings, afternoons, evenings and weekends.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and facilitate contact between the child or young person and the family member. 
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of the child or young person and those participating in the visit.
  • Establish rapport with children and young people through mentoring or youth work. 
  • Provide transportation
  • Complete report writing after each contact with a child or young person. 
  • Access rostering and shift information through email, calendar and MS Teams. 

Skills & Experience

  • Certificate IV in Community Services, Youth Work, or other relevant qualifications to the industry.
  • Current Provide First Aid (HLTAID011) and Provide CPR (HLTAID009) certifications
  • Current Unrestricted Australian Drivers Licence. 
  • Comprehensively insured vehicle with child lock system and back seat capacity. 
  • Confident in using a variety computer systems and outlook.
  • Previous experience working with children and young people.
  • Passion & commitment to improving the quality of life, skills and independence of children and young people. 

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check, NSW Working with Children Check and NSW Residential Care Workers Register Check.
