About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Practitioner to join our leadership team in Brisbane. The Program Manager coordinates and manages the day-to-day operations of our Family Intervention Service (FIS).

This position would suit someone passionate about leading and developing a team that provides support and guidance to biological families involved in the Child Protection System. Knowledge of Domestic and Family Violence would be beneficial. 

This position is being offered as Full-Time Permanent, located in our Milton office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain functional and supportive relationships with children and young people and their parents/caregivers subject to child protection intervention. Keeping the family inclusive principle at the forefront of our work, actively working towards reunification or preservation of the family unit.

  • Complete initial and ongoing strengths and needs assessments, safety planning and action plans in collaboration with family. 

  • Support and monitor family environment and provide resources and skill development to help families achieve goals outlined in the action plan including but not limited to supporting family contact, and increasing safety, parenting skills, budgeting, life skills, mental health support and community engagement.

  • Liaise with relevant stakeholders and participate in relevant stakeholder meetings, coordinate formal action plan review meetings and contribute to Child Safety’s assessment and planning processes.

Skills & Experience

  • A recognised Degree qualification in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology or Social Sciences, or related field.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience within a human services environment.
  • Experience delivering services to children and young people in Out of Home Care.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, compliance and quality standards (or ability to acquire).
  • Demonstrated experience managing budgets, competing priorities and high-volume environments.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management capability.
  • Current Unrestricted Australian Drivers Licence.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office packages.
