                              Role: Therapeutic Youth Worker (TSIL)

                              Employment Type: Permanent Full Time                           

                              Location: Wollongong

                             Hourly Rate: From $37.73 per hour + Super (Dependant on qualifications & experience)

As a Therapeutic Youth Worker, you’ll be a key support for young people aged 16 - 18 to prepare them to successfully transition to independent living by acquiring problem solving and independent living skills. You will be part of a dedicated to team working to ensuring a safe, homelike environment where young people can thrive. You will have the opportunity to apply your case management skills along with facilitating structured and individualised life skills programs.

This is a permanent full time position Monday – Friday. Hours of work can be negotiated with the successful applicant. This position offers access to a pool car. Phone and laptop are also provided.

Role requirements:

  • Hold or be actively completing a Diploma in Community Services or related field (or higher) OR hold relevant experience and complete Diploma qualification offered by LWB. (Please note: a qualification is desirable but not essential for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander applicants with relevant experience)
  • A current Provide First Aid (HLTAID011) certificate
  • A current driver’s licence
  • Willingness to assist with activities of daily living, including personal care (if required).

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check, NSW Working with Children Check and NSW Residential Care Workers Register check.
