About the role
Provide personalised coaching and mentoring to a team of Disability Support Workers, focusing on skill development and best practices, while overseeing the operations of up to 3 Supported Independent Living (SIL) homes. The role involves an on-call component once every 8 weeks as well as occasional travel.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate high-volume 24/7 service operations
- Provide proactive leadership to a team of Disability Support Workers
- Continuity of support services through management of unexpected leave coverage
- Foster a culture of resilience and adaptability
- Encourage staff competency in active support and complex client care
- Effectively manage crisis situations and complex behavioural incidents
- Act as a key liaison with families, navigating complex care dynamics
- National collaboration to maintain service alignment
- Balance competing demands, ensuring completion of mandatory reporting, compliance, risk management, and resource optimisation
Skills & Experience
- Previous leadership experience within the delivery of services supporting people with complex care needs and high behaviours
- Established influencing and negotiation skills
- Ability to think creatively and problem solve
- Diploma in relevant Social & Community Services or relevant experience
- Current unrestricted Australian Drivers Licence and access to a reliable vehicle
Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check (where relevant to the role).
