About the role

Use your curiosity and innovative thinking to lead the design and establishment of community based marketing efforts that strengthen Life Without Barriers’ presence and relevance at a local level to drive engagement.  This is a permanent full time opportunity that can be located anywhere on the East Coast.  There is flexibility to work from home three days per week with the other two being from our local office in your area.  

This new role will suit someone who is motivated by living and working with strong values, committed to impact and serving people in communities. This role reports to the Chief Advisor and works closely with its peers in the Strategic Engagement Team and across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

  • Play a lead role in strategic marketing plans that are directly related to our community work.
  • Partner with operational teams to co-design local community marketing approaches that support engagement, participation, and outcomes.
  • Conduct analysis and market research and develop insightful and relevant reporting.
  • Support consultation and engagement approaches that listen to and respond to the views and preferences of people with lived experience, including children, families, people with disability and carers.
  • Identify new opportunities nationally.
  • Support key national relationships
  • Work closely with peers and partners to ensure efforts are maximised and integrated including media, digital, engagement and policy.

Skills & Experience

  • Tertiary qualification in relevant discipline
  • Significant experience in leading the development and implementation of national community based engagement and marketing strategies.
  • Demonstrated project management skills with proven track record in delivering quality outcomes for multiple projects in a collaborative and fast paced environment within tight deadlines.
  • Significant experience in writing and editing to a publishable standard
  • Demonstrated experience in working across an integrated team
  • The ability to influence and work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders including peers, employees, and external organisations
  • Advanced and proven problem solving skills, and ability to think laterally, creatively, and strategically
  • Highly effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with a specific focus on strong facilitation skills.
