About the role

The southern Tasmania team is looking to engage Disability Support Workers to work with our clients at our respite service in Oatlands, in the southern midlands area. Disability Support Workers provide support with activities that include daily living, including personal care, and develop, implement, and monitor Individual Plans. 

We are seeking candidates local to the Oatlands community, or willing to travel to Oatlands to provide support across our short-term accommodation, community access and group programs. You can expect to work across a 24/7 roster. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Follow person-centred support and positive behaviour support plans
  • Facilitate client goal achievement through meaningful activities
  • Maintain thorough record keeping
  • Build positive relationships with clients, families and colleagues
  • Advocate for client choice and control

Skills & Experience

  • Ability to learn and work within a positive behaviour support framework
  • A passion for working with people with disability
  • An unrestricted Australian driver’s licence
  • A current First Aid and CPR Certificate

Successful candidates will be required to clear all state-based probity checks; including a National Criminal History Record Check, Tasmanian Working With Vulnerable People Registration and NDIS Worker Screening Check.
