About the Role
As an Aged Care Home & Community Assistant you will provide personalised home care support to older Australians in the Epping area helping them continue to live independently in their own homes.
You will travel between multiple clients homes across Epping and surrounding suburbs travelling either towards Eltham or Sunshine), so ability to travel is essential (you will be reimbursed $1.01 per KM travelled while you are working).
We have casual opportunities available with shifts offered throughout the week. Applicants with strong availability, particularly throughout the Christmas and New Year period, are encouraged to apply. There may be opportunities to transition into a Permanent Part-Time role in the future.
Key Responsibilities
- Domestic duties which may include but are not limited to: vacuuming, mopping, washing dishes, cleaning surfaces, emptying bins, washing/ironing
- Personal care inclusive of showering, daily hygiene, monitoring of health and wellbeing
- Transportation and community access to medical appointments and social activities
- Provide support with daily tasks and routines
- Foster positive relationships with clients from a wide range of cultural backgrounds
Skills & Experience
- Certificate III in Individual Support, Ageing Support or similar
- An Australian Driver’s Licence and reliable vehicle with minimum third-party insurance
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships
- Ability to speak a second language is desirable but not essential
- A current First Aid and CPR Certificate
