About the Role
Joining our Supported Independent Living (SIL) team on a permanent part time basis, you will support people with disability in shared housing or in their own home, providing various supports including personal care and daily living. You can expect to work across a 24/7 roster.
Providing support to people with disability living in Chifley, the successful candidate will have experience working in a Group Home/Supported Independent Living setting and have a range of experience across including working with behaviour support plans, personal care, manual handling and confidence in driving a wheelchair van. To provide best support to the people we are supporting, you will also hold a relevant qualification.
Successful candidates must be able to commit to one of the set fortnightly rosters below:
35.5 hours per fortnight:
- Week 1: Wed 2:30-8pm and Thu 4:30-11pm
- Week 2: Tue 2:30-8pm, Fri 3-8pm, Sat 2-8pm and Sun 9am - 4pm
39.5 hours per fortnight:
- Week 1: Wed 2:30-8pm, Thu 3:30-8pm, Fri 9am-2pm and Sun 6am-2pm
- Week 2: Mon 3:30-8pm, Tue 6am-2:30pm and Wed 6-9:30am
40.5 hours per fortnight:
- Week 1: Mon 3-8pm, Tue 7am - 3pm and Fri 3:30-8pm
- Week 2: Tue 3:30-8pm, Wed 6-9:30am, Thu 3:30-8pm, Fri 9am-2pm and Sun 2:30-8pm
Key Responsibilities
- Follow person-centred support and behaviour plans
- Facilitate client goal achievement through meaningful activities
- Maintain thorough record keeping
- Build positive relationships with clients, families and colleagues
- Advocate for client choice and control
Skills & Experience
- Experience working with people with disability in a group home/SIL setting
- Relevant qualification e.g. Cert III/IV in Disability (or similar)
- Previous experience working with behaviour support plans
- Confidence in driving a wheelchair van
- Manual Handling and Personal care experience
- An unrestricted Australian driver’s licence
- A current First Aid and CPR Certificate
Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including a National Criminal History Record Check and obtain an NDIS Clearance.
