Disability Support Worker. Casual - Port Macquarie
About the role
Supported Independent Living (SIL) is supporting people with disability in shared housing or in their own home, providing various supports including personal care and daily living assistance. You can expect to work across a 24/7 roster.
Responsibilities

Support individuals with complex needs and behaviours of concern, staying calm and using de-escalation techniques when needed.

Assist with personal care and mobility, including tasks like bathing, dressing, and manual handling to ensure safety and dignity.

Help clients build confidence and independence by encouraging daily living skills, self-expression, and personal growth.

Facilitate community access and provide transport support, helping clients stay connected and involved in activities they enjoy.

Work as part of a 24/7 rotating roster, with sleepover shifts being a key requirement of the role.
Skills & Experience
- An unrestricted New South Wales driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle is required
- Committed to work flexible work hours across the week, including public holidays
- Demonstrated ability to use basic technology and software on a mobile and desktop
- A current First Aid Certificate, which includes the course HLTAID003 or HLTAID011
Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check, NDIS and Working with Children Checks (where relevant to the role).
