Disability Support Worker. Casual - Lismore
About the role
Supported Independent Living (SIL) is supporting people with disability in shared housing or in their own home, providing various supports including personal care and daily living assistance. You can expect to work across a 24/7 roster.
Key Responsibilities
- Support clients with daily personal care such as bathing, shaving and toileting
- Provide medication assistance and mobility assistance by lifting, transferring and hoisting clients
- Work across a 24/7 roster, including leave cover and active overnight shifts as needed
- Support clients to engage in their passions - like music, karaoke, and singing - to foster joy and connection
- Empower clients by promoting choice, independence, and participation in activities that align with their goals
Skills & Experience
- Understanding of behaviour support plans and ability to follow them consistently
- Able to navigate apps and digital tools for accurate client record-keeping
- A current First Aid Certificate, which includes the course HLTAID003 or HLTAID011
- Current unrestricted driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle
Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check.
