                              Role: Family Support Worker (Families Together) 

                              Employment Type: Permanent Part Time (3 days per week)

                              Location:  Taree

In this newly created role, in our Families Together program based in Taree, you will provide intensive in-home and community-based family support, mentoring, coaching and practical assistance to families. You will support the implementation of family action plan goals to strengthen parenting capacity, increase child safety, supporting family preservation and facilitating safe reunification outcomes where appropriate.

Role requirements:

  • Hold or be actively completing a Diploma in Community Services or related field (or higher) (Please note: a qualification is desirable but not essential for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander applicants with relevant experience)
  • Demonstrated experience working with individuals, families and/or groups from strength-based, culturally appropriate perspective
  • Experience in working with children, young people and families who are subject to child protection intervention.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to maintain clients privacy, confidentiality and dignity through inclusive, empowering and strength-based practice.
  • A current driver’s licence

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check, NSW Working with Children Check and NSW Residential Care Workers Register check.
