Department Summary

The Lundquist College of Business (LCB) is one of seven schools housing academic programs on the University of Oregon campus located in Eugene, Oregon. The College works cooperatively with other UO Colleges and Schools to prepare students for a broad range of career paths. There are approximately 50 full-time faculty members, 48 instructors and pro tem instructors, 40 administrative positions, 30 staff members, 1,200 undergraduate majors, 2,250 pre-business majors, 1,200 undergraduate minors, 170 master’s students and 30 doctoral students.

The Department of Operations and Business Analytics (https://business.uoregon.edu/departments/operations-business-analytics) is one of five academic units (accounting, finance, management, and marketing being the other four) that make up the Lundquist College of Business (Lundquist), which is one of nine colleges and schools within the University of Oregon (UO).

Position Summary

The Department of Operations and Business Analytics (https://business.uoregon.edu/departments/operations-business-analytics) in the Lundquist College of Business seeks talented pro tem faculty who are passionate about teaching and learning. Pro Tem faculty are qualified part-time instructors offered teaching opportunities based on course demand and staffing.

The Department is searching for qualified instructors as part of its pro tem faculty pool to teach in Operations and Business Analytics at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. We are seeking pro tem faculty to teach the following courses in particular, however, other courses in the department could become available. These courses are scheduled to be conducted on campus and in the classroom with social distancing and other safeguards in place:
• OBA 311 – Business Analytics I
• OBA 312 – Business Analytics II
• OBA 335 – Operations Management

Candidates should be strongly committed to quality undergraduate and graduate instruction, service to students, and adding value to the college.

Minimum Requirements

Instructors of Undergraduate Level Courses: Masters degree in relevant field preferred; in exceptional circumstances, bachelors with significant professional and teaching experience in relevant field may be substituted for an advanced degree.

Instructors of Graduate Level Courses: Masters degree in relevant field or advanced degree with significant professional experience in relevant field required (in exceptional circumstances, bachelors with significant professional and teaching experience in relevant field may be substituted for an advanced degree).

Professional Competencies

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills that will enhance community relations and support undergraduate/graduate student training
• Demonstrated potential to contribute positively to our diverse community and to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds
• Demonstrated ability or potential for quality teaching

Preferred Qualifications

• PhD or other doctorate and demonstrated teaching experience.
