Position Announcement
The University of Oregon’s Mathematics Department invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position, to begin in fall 2024. Competitive applicants will have a record of research excellence, a demonstrated potential for outstanding teaching, and a commitment to promoting an inclusive community. We are particularly interested in growing our analysis group, but we are open to hiring someone in any area of mathematics.
Department or Program Summary
We are a diverse and growing department with strengths in Algebraic Geometry, Analysis, Combinatorics, Differential Geometry, Mathematical Biology, Number Theory, Representation Theory, Topology, and Probability. The department has a thriving Ph.D. program with approximately 65 graduate students, 32 tenured and tenure-track faculty, 8 postdocs, and 15 lecturers. We particularly welcome applications from scholars who are from populations historically underrepresented in the academy, and/or who have experience working with students from diverse backgrounds.
Minimum Requirements
• Ph.D. in Mathematics, Statistics, or a closely related field
• One year of postdoctoral work.
