Position Summary
The Grants & Contracts Coordinator monitors the day-to-day operations related to sponsored projects and contracts management at ECS. The person in this position is responsible for developing and implementing policies, processes, and procedures which support timely and accurate pre- and post-award financial management, reporting, and policy compliance. This position assists ECS to conceptualize, negotiate, and manage contracts via the University’s Purchasing and Contracting Services with third parties for the goods and services required of ECS’ sponsored projects. The Grants & Contracts Coordinator works directly with ECS’s principal investigators and provides consultation, advice, and direction to ECS’s Manager, Director, and principal investigators in the administration of sponsored projects including issues related to Human Subjects and SubAwards.
The Grants & Contracts Coordinator reports directly to the ECS Business Manager.
Minimum Requirements
• Two years of grant/contract coordination experience with responsibility for obtaining and monitoring the use of grant funds and/or negotiating and administering public or private service contracts; AND
• A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with major courses in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Three additional years of the above experience may substitute for the degree requirement.

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in higher education or public sector
• Experience with University of Oregon systems, policies and procedures
• Expertise with Banner, IDR/Cognos, MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook), Internet
• Experience working with any of the following funding agencies: National Science Foundation, National Institutes of Health, Institute of Educational Sciences and Office of Special Education Programs.
