Position Summary

As a Food Service Worker 2 (FSW2), you will perform a wide range of food service activities, including front and back of the house duties, barista operations and counter service, food prep and production, dish and dining room upkeep, and simple cooking – all while providing outstanding customer service. You will get to train student employees and work with other dining staff to create a trendsetting dining experience for our Ducks in a diverse, respectful and inclusive working environment.

You’ll work with a great group of colleagues who value teamwork and customer service.

The FSW2 positions are full-time, 9-month employment. Shifts may include nights, weekends, and holidays, and schedules may change based on the operational needs of the unit.

Work conditions and physical demands are typical of those found in the food service industry. These conditions may include slippery floors, extreme temperatures, heavy lifting, and standing for long periods.

Special Requirements
• Must have, or ability to obtain, a Lane County Food Handler’s card within 2 weeks of employment. If you don’t have it, we’ll help you get it!

Essential Personnel:
This is an essential position, and you’ll need to make a reasonable effort to report to work at times when the university may be closed due to bad weather.

Minimum Requirements

• One year of experience in a commercial food service facility (such as restaurants/bars, industrial kitchens, school cafeterias, and grocery stores).

Professional Competencies

• Ability to communicate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
• Ability to provide excellent customer service and maintain a professional demeanor during rush periods.
• Ability to prioritize duties.
