Department Summary

The Lundquist College of Business (LCB) is one of seven schools housing academic programs on the University of Oregon campus. The college works cooperatively with other UO Colleges and Schools to prepare students for a broad range of career paths. We are a top business school with a unique mission and vision that draws strength from our links to the Pacific Rim and the distinctive qualities of Oregon culture: innovation, sustainability, active lifestyles, financial stewardship, and respect for individuality and diversity within an increasingly global community.

At the heart of our vision and mission are our four centers of excellence, each highlighting our distinctive qualities and themes. These centers advance a "learning by doing" approach to business education (we call it experiential education), in which students work on real projects for real companies, gaining first-hand experience in their careers before they even graduate. Our centers of excellence help you target your business education to specific areas. But it's our departments that provide the foundation of your Lundquist education. Whether it's an undergraduate degree, MBA, Executive MBA, Master of Science in Sports Product Management, Master of Accounting, or Ph.D., our departments in accounting, finance, management, marketing, and operations and business analytics deliver the disciplinary fundamentals for success and the research excellence that advances business knowledge. Through this distinct approach to education, students graduate from the Lundquist College with an education that meets their personal needs, interests, and ambitions, preparing them to be among the most knowledgeable and motivated business leaders of tomorrow. There are approximately 50 full-time faculty members, 54 instructors and adjuncts, 44 administrative positions, 31 staff members, 1,300 business majors, 2,300 pre-business majors, 1,000 undergraduate minors, 160 master’s students, and 35 doctoral students. The annual budget of the college is approximately $30 million.
