Your new role at NewDay
Be a part of the Collections Supplier Management team, supporting in the day-to-day management and oversight of the multiple suppliers used throughout Collections mainly including Debt Collection Agencies (DCA), Debt Purchasers and specialist suppliers (Probate/Insolvency).
Collections have a driven roadmap in place for future DCA placements and debt sale strategies. Due to this, there is a requirement for increased oversight of our suppliers with quick and efficient execution of contracts, governance meetings, supplier support/queries etc.
You will work in partnership with a number of teams within the business including Recoveries, UPL, Legal & Compliance, Risk, Procurement, Collections Strategy, Customer Outcomes, Change & Improvement and Governance & Control.
Alongside your internal teams, you'll working closely with our external suppliers to co-ordinate internal and external teams to ensure effective adherence to the DCA and Debt Purchaser Supplier Governance Framework.
You will be present at external on-site meetings and therefore maintain a professional demeanour whilst displaying all of the NewDay values. You will be key to supporting our business objective to embed the Manifesto in both culture and values with our people and partners.
This is a meaningful opportunity for an individual who is looking to expand their Collections industry knowledge and gain insight into the Supplier Management function. The individual should be organised, mature, respected, very driven, strive to overcome hurdles and grow with the opportunity to work autonomously and as part of a team.
0-12 months you’ll deliver
- Supplier Relationship Management: Form relationships with suppliers to ensure strategic alignment, operational delivery, and continuous improvement opportunities while leading supplier action plans and governance requirements.
- Compliance and Process Improvement: Support compliance reviews, drive process improvements, and supervise adherence to NewDay’s supplier management standards, including audits, testing, and governance oversight.
- Performance Monitoring and Development: Supervise and improve critical metrics and meaningful metrics, address non-performance, and provide mentorship and feedback to suppliers for identifying improvement opportunities.
- Collaborator Engagement: Act as a representative at conferences and meetings, representing NewDay while sharing industry insights, standard methodologies, and performance updates with senior management and wider teams.
- Governance and Change Management: Coordinate supplier-related change requests, ensure alignment with internal standards, and represent third-party supplier considerations at internal forums.
What you’ll bring
We need knowledge, experience + expertise in:
- Strong interpersonal, communication and team-working skills with the ability to establish relationships at a senior level
- Consistent record to work under pressure, prioritise conflicting tasks and meet tight deadlines while staying calm and positive
- Experience in identifying problems, finding effective solutions and constructively challenging ideas for continuous improvement
- To work independently with initiative and confidence while maintaining a positive demeanour
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word, with experience in the Aspire programme and completion of the CAT test
