About the role

Join Australia’s premier Class Actions team in our vibrant Sydney CBD office. With a diverse range of legal cases aimed at securing justice for victims of mass wrongs, our work is challenging and rewarding with excellent career development opportunities.

This will be a busy and exciting opportunity for a high performing individual in the early stages of their career as a lawyer in Australia’s leading and most successful class actions practice. We will consider candidates from recent graduates to those with up to five years’ post-admission experience. 

This position will see you involved in a range of different work on our class action litigation:

  • Assisting in interlocutory, procedural and case management issues, and assisting in instructing counsel to appear at case management and interlocutory hearings
  • Assisting in working with experts
  • Assisting in discovery review and building the documentary evidence case
  • Assisting in preparing for trial and instructing counsel at trial
  • Undertaking legal research and factual / evidentiary analyses
  • Interacting with clients and assisting to manage the inflow of information from clients and class members

The experience, skills and aptitude we are looking for 

  • Strong academic record
  • Strong analytical skills 
  • Experience carrying out complex legal research
  • Strong attention to detail while at the same time being able to see the “big picture”
  • Ability to work effectively with others, foster positive relationships and contribute to team success
  • Resourceful and resilient, and an ability to find creative solutions and adapt to challenges
  • A keen interest in specialising in the area of class actions litigation
  • Litigation experience is desirable but not essential
