About the role

Are you ready to take the next step in your career?  We have a part time (0.6) opportunity for a Paralegal Clerk to join our Work Injuries Team in Frankston.

Your role will involve review of medical records and reports, liaising with clients, legal research, quantifying claims, progressing claims to resolution and working collaboratively in a team. As you progress and develop you will begin to take on more complex work supported by a Lawyer. 

This is a great role for a current Paralegal, experienced legal assistant wanting to advance or a law student and offers a fantastic learning and development journey.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drafting of simple legal and client correspondence and documents
  • Reviewing and analysing liability and quantum material
  • Legal research
  • Preparation of chronologies
  • Communication with clients as required
  • All other general duties as required

The experience we are looking for 

An understanding of core legal principles, your ability to manage competing demands effectively and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a high-performance team will see you excel in this role. In addition, you will have:

  • A passion for Personal Injuries is desirable
  • An understanding of core legal principles
  • Prior experience in legal research and document preparation
  • An understanding of court procedures
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to show compassion and empathy for vulnerable clients
