About the role

Our Asbestos, Silica and Workplace diseases team have accumulated more than 20 years of experience in asbestos litigation and pride themselves on ensuring that their clients not only receive the best compensation result, but provide exceptional services during our client’s stressful and traumatic journey.

We now have an exciting opportunity to join our close-knit team as a Paralegal on a part time permanent basis (2-3 days a week) with an excellent opportunity to grow your career in a leading plaintiff law firm.

What you will be responsible for: 

  • Manage and progress individual files with proficiency
  • Communication with clients including explanation of legal concepts, obtaining instructions and managing expectations
  • Reviewing and analysing liability and quantum material and requesting further material
  • Drafting of legal and client correspondence and documents
  • Developing understanding of strategy used in similar matters

The experience we are looking for: 

  • Excellent organisational skills, with meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to multitask effectively. 
  • A strong academic background and/or experience in conducting complex legal research and writing. 
  • An understanding of our client base and the capacity to demonstrate empathy and compassion. 
  • Desirable backgrounds include Business/Commerce, Engineering, or Computer Science. 
  • Demonstrated experience in using Microsoft Excel, updating databases, and/or manipulating data is advantageous. 
  • Capability to prioritise tasks, adapt to a rapidly evolving environment, and demonstrate outstanding organisational skills.  
  • A genuine passion for law and you are eager to contribute within a collaborative work setting.
