About the role 

Join our Melbourne office as an Associate / Senior Associate in the Vic Injuries Specialised Litigation Team. With a diverse client base, the work is challenging and rewarding with excellent career development opportunities. In joining the team, you will become part of our experienced group of specialised Lawyers who are passionate about extending justice to everyone who needs it. 

The team works exclusively with litigated matters across the state, providing support and strategic advice, preparing cases for trial and then managing them to conclusion. Working closely with a Principal Lawyer, this is a unique opportunity for someone to accelerate their knowledge and experience in Litigation, enhance their reputation within the jurisdiction and to hone their skills managing a high-volume practice. 

Some of your key responsibilities

• Exceptional client management
• Detailed trial preparation
• Regular court instructing
• Liaising with courts, barristers and experts
• Interlocutory Applications
• Draft advanced correspondence and court documents

The experience we are looking for

• Litigation experience essential, preferably within Workcover
• Strong service focus with the ability to handle sensitive matters professionally and with empathy
• High attention to detail and the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks whilst maintaining quality
• Being a self-starter with a proactive can-do attitude
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence
• Confidence in fast paced environments with tenacity to meet deadlines
• A strong understanding of court processes
• Excellent organisation and time management skills
• Ability to work in a team as well as autonomously
