About the opportunity:
The Faculty of Science & Technology is seeking a motivated and adaptable individual to manage the Faculty’s animal facilities (including reptile, amphibian and murine).
This role provides high level technical advice to facility users and is responsible for the development and currency of training and induction programs. A high level of facility user satisfaction is a key success factor for the role.
Coordinating animal husbandry practices across a variety of animal facilities
Leading an animal services team to successfully support animal facilities and abilities to navigate the complex nexus between animal welfare, research needs and regulatory requirements.
Developing research facility management procedures for reptiles, amphibians, and mammals with consideration for endangered species.
Complying with work health and safety (WHS)requirements
Strong knowledge of compliance, legal, and regulatory standards, including animal ethics, biosafety, and gene technology
