About the role:
UC is seeking a highly motivated Risk, Compliance and Assurance Manager to lead and enhance our enterprise-wide frameworks, foster a proactive risk culture, and ensure we remain compliant, accountable, and forward-thinking. Reporting to the Deputy Director, Risk & Safety and as part of the People & Culture cohort, the role plays a pivotal role in embedding best-practice risk management and compliance approaches across the University. This position will drive continuous improvement to our frameworks and provide strategic advice and senior-level support to leadership, Council, and governance committees.
Key responsibilities include:
Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of our Risk Management and Compliance Frameworks.
Oversee enterprise risk assessments, registers, controls, and mitigation strategies.
Provide advice on legislative and regulatory obligations.
Manage risk systems, records, reports, and governance submissions.
Lead investigations and breach assessments, ensuring timely resolution and reporting.
Facilitate risk workshops, compliance training, and capability development.
Champion a strong, collaborative risk and compliance culture.
Liaise with internal stakeholders, regulatory bodies, and sector peers to stay ahead of emerging risks and trends.
Support audits, reviews, and governance assurance activities.
About you:
To succeed in this role, you will bring:
Proven expertise in enterprise risk management and regulatory compliance, ideally within a complex or higher education environment.
Exceptional communication and analytical skills.
A good understanding of relevant compliance, legislation, standards, and reporting frameworks.
Ability to build trusted relationships with diverse stakeholders and foster a culture of accountability.
Experience managing governance and reporting processes at an executive level.
