About the opportunity:

The University of Canberra is seeking a proactive and collaborative Lecturer in Economics to join the Canberra School of Government. We value diversity and particularly welcome applications from women and individuals who bring diverse perspectives to enrich our academic community.

In this role you will share your passion for public policy, economic policy and/or applied economics and related disciplines, contributing to teaching that is high-quality, engaging, and accessible across various modes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach and research in applied economics, including in its application to business.
  • Provide face-to-face and online teaching at undergraduate and graduate level in other programmes as required.
  • Lead teaching innovation and scholarship to strengthen the School’s reputation in applied economics.
  • Promote and support excellence in disciplinary and interdisciplinary activities/scholarship.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key external and professional stakeholders.
  • Collaboratively develop curricula with academic colleagues, industry, and community partners.

 

About You:

You value collaboration, inclusivity, and innovation and will bring:

  • A PhD in Economics, Applied Economics, or a related discipline,
  • A record of effective teaching, and coordination within blended learning environments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well in team-based academic settings.
  • Confidence in delivering online teaching and assessment, including in non-standard teaching periods (such as June - July or December - January) where needed.
  • A commitment to reflective practice and contributing to the scholarship of teaching and learning.
  • A sincere commitment to contributing to UC’s Indigenous Leadership  Strategy.
