About the role  

Join our growing team as we undertake a significant and challenging program of work over the next few years. As a member of the Harvey Norman Information Technology team based at the corporate office in Homebush West, you will be part of a highly collaborative and enjoyable work environment. Here, you will find satisfaction and purpose by advancing the eCommerce platform for one of Australia’s largest retailers. Your skills and experience will be pivotal to the team’s success.

You will also act as a mentor to Junior Developers, guiding their growth and ensuring best practices are upheld.

Responsibilities include; 

  • Designing and implementing new features, integrations and microservices across our Magento 2 Adobe Commerce platform.
  • Designing solutions that are simple, scalable, robust, and maintainable, ensuring healthy design choices.
  • Contributing to the performance, security, and stability of our eCommerce platform.
  • Managing our code and release processes.
  • Building, enhancing, extending, and maintaining our shopping cart, checkout, and payment experience.
  • Building, extending, and maintaining our various APIs (ie, GraphQL, REST and SOAP)
  • Writing and maintaining unit tests and implementing other improvements to our quality assurance practices.
  • Assessing new technologies and integration partners.

About you  

You will be a highly skilled Senior Magento PHP Developer with extensive Magento 2 experience. You will be managing high-volume, transactional eCommerce websites including familiarity working with payment gateways, inventory systems, and order management systems. Additionally, you will be adept at building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders and possess excellent collaboration skills.

You will also have: 

  • Strong knowledge of PHP, Linux, MySQL, JavaScript, Redis, Elastic, Varnish and RabbitMQ.
  • Experiencing in utilising various APIs including GraphQL, REST and SOAP and custom API integrations.
  • Experience with both cloud services such as AWS/Azure and container environments such as Docker/Kubernetes.
  • Understanding of web and mobile standards, search optimisation best practices, performance, accessibility, and usability considerations.
