About the role  

Reporting to the Head of Merchandise Planning and based onsite at the Homebush West Corporate Office, you will work within a team that actively monitors data and market trends, working collaboratively with Merchants and Suppliers by forward planning and providing the right quantity replenishment recommendations to be in stock at the right place at the right time. Your role involves allocating products that are already in Australia, which means you’ll be managing the distribution of inventory within the country. 

You will also;

  • Work closely with the Merchants to identify the most effective product assortment for their category.
  • Support supplier collaboration efforts aimed to optimise in-stock and inventory objectives.
  • Plan and collaborate with key cross-functional partners for trade decisions to drive sales.
  • Assist in inventory forecasts in conjunction with the Merchants and Suppliers.
  • Work closely with the merchant to effectively oversee and aid in managing the OTB (Open to Buy) budget.
  • Conduct a weekly/ monthly reforecast to identify risks, opportunities and corrective actions required to achieve revenue targets.
  • Provide timely monthly reporting analysing sales performance, identifying trends and opportunities/risks.

  • A meticulous approach to planning, with strong organisational and time management skills.

  • A collaborative spirit and the ability to build strong relationships across teams.
  • A knack for navigating challenges and influencing outcomes through thoughtful analysis.
  • Confidence working with digital tools (beyond proficiencies in the Microsoft 365 Suite) and a proactive approach to learning new systems.
  • A deep understanding of retail operations, particularly in large-format stores with extensive product ranges.
  • An instinct for interpreting market trends and aligning them with customer demand.
