You will play an integral role ensuring Data & AI opportunities are identified, shaped, and delivered to maximise business value.
This role is a unique opportunity to lead AI adoption by embedding Data & AI thinking into decision-making, translating technical concepts into business terms, and building trust in the responsible use of AI.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage and build relationships with business leaders to understand priorities, challenges, and operational needs.
- Proactively identify and shape high-value Data & AI use cases into defined problem statements and value cases.
- Ensure Data & AI initiatives align with organisational Data & AI strategy, governance frameworks, and ethical standards.
- Act as the business representative during Data & AI solution design, testing, and deployment.
- Support delivery teams to ensure solutions meet agreed business outcomes and operational requirements.
- Monitor performance of deployed Data & AI solutions, tracking benefit realisation and ROI.
- Identify and mitigate risks related to bias, data privacy, and unintended consequences.
What is Required
- Bachelor’s or master’s in computer science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Certifications in cloud platforms (Azure, AWS), Databricks, or AI/ML technologies are desirable but not essential
- Proven track record in the mining and/or supply chain industry, with a deep understanding of mining processes, operations and systems
- Experienced with engaging across multiple levels of business stakeholders (frontline operational staff to leaders), potentially in consulting, mining support or advisory roles, influencing decision-making, and building consensus.
- Strong facilitation skills, with experience leading workshops, strategy sessions, and stakeholder engagement forums.
- Demonstrated ability to identify, scope, and prioritise business improvement opportunities and translate them into actionable initiatives.
- Hands-on experience in project management, change management, adoption programs, and capability uplift in complex organisations.
- Skilled in translating technical concepts into business value for non-technical audiences.
- A curious mind to ask questions, probe and professionally challenge the status quo.
- Background in AI, analytics, or digital transformation programs, with a solid understanding of industry trends and best practices.
- Familiarity with responsible AI principles, governance frameworks, and risk management in technology adoption.
