The Opportunity

Reporting to the Manager – Strategic Planning, you will support the strategic mine planning function by delivering rapid, standardised, repeatable and auditable outputs. You will play a key role in developing and managing mine planning systems, progressing them from development environments to production and creating toolkits that deliver deep strategic insights from large data sets.

This is a hands‑on role requiring a blend of programming expertise and the ability to work with diverse stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and manage the mining model construction system
• Progress systems from development environments into production
• Design and build toolkits that provide strategic insights into large data sets
• Maintain up‑to‑date core data sets aligned with strategic, life‑of‑mine, and tactical planning schedules
• Deliver high‑quality outcomes and model behaviours that support MinRes’ strategic objectives

What is Required:

• Tertiary qualification in Computer Science or related discipline
• Proven technical system development expertise across numerical algorithms, computational geometry, front end and back end development, cloud environments, databases and Linux configuration
• Hands on development experience on Windows and Linux using C/C++/Rust, Python, TypeScript, AWS, Docker and modern web frameworks
• Experience building systems from proof of concept to production using modern development practices
• Self-starter with the initiative to both develop tools and use them efficiently in production environments
