About This Role:

The Department of Geology at Kansas State University invites applications for a postdoctoral fellow to generate rough-walled fractures and numerically simulate fluid flow and transport.

The Post Doc will be performing numerical simulations of reactive transport in fractures. He/she will be responsible to generate fractures with rough surfaces from height profiles obtained from profilometer of a shale sample. He/she will develop a computer code to simulate fluid flow and reactive transport at the scale of a single fracture.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in petroleum, mechanical, chemical or civil engineering, geoscience, or relevant areas

  • Excellent knowledge of fracture networks and numerical simulations

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent knowledge of OpenFoam, lattice-Boltzmann or CFD simulations
  • Excellent publication records

Other Requirements:

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment
