SNAP-Ed Nutrition Educator, Grant County Other On-site requirement
The Nutrition Educator position serves to meet the Kansas Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Education (SNAP-Ed) mission of empowering low-income Kansans using evidence-based strategies to achieve healthy lives and reduce health disparities. Specific strategies include direct education in various settings, community based projects to address policy, system or environmental changes and public health approaches to help children, families and adults improve dietary quality and food resource management skills and increase physical activity. This Educator will serve Grant County, Kansas.
Client Services Assistant Manhattan, Kansas
The Veterinary Health Center (VHC) within the College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking applicants for a Client Services Assistant. This position is responsible for providing quality client services in the Small Animal and Discharge/Emergency desk areas in the Veterinary Health Center, as well as providing clerical and administrative support for the Client Services Manager. Hospital mission includes requirement of providing quality medical services to clients and training for professional veterinary students. Client services must be provided in a professional manner, since first impression of service quality must be established at the time of initial contact to facilitate customer satisfaction, good will, and repeat customer business. The schedule for this position will be 9:00am-5:00pm Saturday and Sunday, off Monday and Tuesday, and 9:00am-6:00pm Wednesday and 2:00pm-10:00pm Thursday and Friday. The position will help the overnight staff if they are sick or on vacation. Times could fluctuate to accommodate the VHC.

Midway District 4-H Youth Development Extension Agent Other
Midway District is comprised of Ellsworth and Russell counties in northwest Kansas. The district staff consists of four agents, one office professional, and one program assistant. The district has a combined population of 13,039 with 13 rural communities and six school districts. Extension agents are professional educators who serve as a link between Kansas State University and communities across Kansas. Agents are jointly responsible to the director of K-State Research and Extension (represented by a designated administrator) and the local extension board. This position will lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of a comprehensive 4-H youth development program for school-aged youth in cooperation with local community members and extension colleagues. The primary focus of this position is youth development, along with adult volunteer development; youth education program development; membership growth and participation; and community partnership expansion. Programming will include but is not limited to: community club support, out-of-school programs, school enrichment, volunteer management, and outreach to create program opportunities with new and existing community partners.

The Department Head will lead a dynamic and high-performing unit and will provide strong leadership in the implementation of a strategic vision that will position the department as a leader in the College of Arts and Sciences, the university and the discipline of psychology. This includes further developing the external funding base of the department, fostering excellence in teaching, research, and other professional activities, and further advancing diversity in all aspects of departmental activities.
