The Veterinary Health Center (VHC) within the College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking Health Information Specialists to join our dedicated team to help facilitate exemplary patient care and quality customer service. While there are many responsibilities of someone in this role, this position is primarily responsible for assisting in the charge capture and management of all medical records for the VHC. This position provides support to the clinical staff by performing real-time auditing services/charge capture during the episode of care and in within the patient care area, primarily in the emergency department. The person in this role should possess critical thinking skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask effectively during times of high patient volume. Excellent communication and organization skills are utilized daily. This position will also serve as primary support for the hospital information system, Instinct, assisting students and staff with help and training as needed and providing back-up support for Client Services. The Department of Diagnostic Medicine/Pathobiology, College of Veterinary Medicine, Kansas State University is recruiting an Assistant or Associate Professor with expertise in tick/vector-borne disease, parasitology, and host-pathogen interactions. The ideal candidate should have evidence of research productivity and a strong potential to obtain or have already obtained extramural funding in any area of bacterial tick-borne diseases. This position is a 12-month, tenure-track appointment with an approximately 80% research, 15% teaching, and 5% non-directed service distribution of effort. The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in working across disciplines and collaborating broadly in areas that are potentially synergistic with current departmental and college faculty interests in infectious diseases, vaccinology, and cellular and molecular mechanisms of host-pathogen interactions.
