About This Role:

The Office of the Vice Provost for Student Success is seeking to hire a Director of Pre-Professional Advising.  The Pre-Professional Advising Center at Kansas State University seeks a Director to join and lead our team of six to seven pre-professional advisors and a recruiting coordinator.  Our advising team is committed to applying advising best-practices within a collaborative, diverse, inclusive and supportive environment that prepares students to become competitive professional school applicants.  Housed in Student Success, this Center provides specialized advising to all students, serving prospective students, current students, and alumni on how to achieve their health and law professional-school goals.  We provide guidance and programing to encourage students to explore and prepare a competitive application to professional school programs such as law, medicine, pharmacy, physical therapy, physician assistant, dental, occupational therapy, nursing, veterinary medicine, and more.

Guided by an advising as teaching model, Center staff help students in any college or program of study explore and prepare for the professions. The Center embraces Student Success guiding principles of equity and inclusion, holistic support, institutional collaboration, and creative innovation.

Job Overview

Provide vision and direct oversight in the administration of the Pre-Professional Advising Center with responsibility for planning, policy, and excellent student learning outcomes.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Five (5) to ten (10) years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree
  • JD, degree in a health-related discipline, or degree in student development or advising.
  • Ten (10) years of academic advising related leadership.
  • Two (2) to five (5) years supervision experience or demonstration of ability to supervise effectively.

Other Requirements:

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment

Anticipated Hiring Salary Range:

$59,199 – $74,000 per year
